Album Notes

Ken Clark is a singer songwriter who composes an eclectic range of songs in the vein of Warren Zevon and Randy Newman. Ken Clark's compositions are musical short stories peopled by an odd array of characters confronting the weirdness of ordinary life. His lyrical arsenal includes humor, sentiment, menace, and general weirdness, all of which he mixed and matched in wild ways.

I recently checked out Ken Clark's music video, "The Red Sea". I liked it a lot! I used to be a rock music critic from about 1978-1982 or so. I also liked the sound of this band, but then I like rock and roll. For those who know rock music well, the first third or so of the Ken Clark Band sounds like Roky Erickson. After that, it changes, but I can't really pin it down. I want to say Flying Burrito Brothers or ZZ Top but that's not quite it. The blurb lists the late Warren Zevon and Randy Newman, two LA singer-songwriter greats. One could hardly have better influences.

Great stuff can recommend it !

Cool music, I have to say. Would like to hear more like it in this day of rap and other media streamed music. Keep up the good work. Hope to see the Band perform this diverse style of music in a planetarium or an open air festival.
