Album Notes

I started playing guitar after college and played folks songs that my Uncle Phil Binks taught me a s a kid. Then I statrted writing wedding songs for my brother, sisters and cousins and then went to writing lyrics about most anythings on my mind.

Now I get up early and write lyrics in the bathtub everyday that I can! 650+ done to date and about 125 set to music. It is a reflective thing I do to bring some sense to a fast paced life. It is great feeling to head off to work with a song in my pocket. I try to catch the feel of the lyrics throught the melody, typically by grabbing a rock or folk riff stuck in my head from the 60's and 70's. After I beat it to death to make it fit I then add tags, bridges and other things to finish them. I mostly play guitar but mess around with an accordion and mandolin from time to time.

This is the second album completed and I'm half done with a third. I'm very grateful to Tom Moncrieff and Mark Gunderson and the the other musicians who add their time and talent to bring these bathtub ditties to life.
