The Joyful Soul of An Acoustic Artist
Ken j. Martin is one of the most soulful, yet joyful artist of his time. Born into a family of nine and raised in projects located in Atlanta's 4th Ward community, Ken j. made an early decision to stay away from the streets and trust in his God given ability to succeed.
With his faith, a guitar, and inspirations such as Sam Cook & Lauren Hill, Ken j. became a local star in Metro Atlanta. As his success and fan base grows, Ken j. is rapidly spreading his joyful soul all over the Southeast and Mid West from Miami, Fla. to Chicago, IL.
Ken J. has worked along with many HBO Def Poets such as Abyss, Jon Goode, Bonnie, GA ME, Malik, Kim, Red Storm, Tommy Bottoms, Queen Sheba, Huggy, BLU (some are not HBO Def Poets but should be) and many more. Television has been a major blessing for Ken J. as well. Ken J. has featured on BET as the Winner of The Atrium’s Exposure Contest and on BETJ with HBO Def Poet Abyss. Atlanta’s stages that have aided Ken j. in his success are Apache Café, Centennial Olympic Park, Six Flags Over GA, GA State University, Atlanta Metropolitan College, Clark Atlanta College, Jassman’s at Morehouse, and many more.
Ken J.’s major goal in life is to start an organization that inspires and helps urban youth to go after their dreams, using their talent and abilities to succeed in a positive way.
