Well-Rounded Disc

There's definitely an old-time rock ‘n' roll feel to this one. "Heaven's On Fire" kicks off the disc with Creedence Clearwater Revival-like swamp rock. The rockin' funk of "Etch-a-Sketch Kid" will bring a smile to your face. The countrified jam of "Dreams" and catchy pop of "I'm Gone" make this a well-rounded disc.

I like two thirds of “What If…” which is better than many discs I get

There are signs of potential all over this disc. The opener “Heavens on Fire” kicks off with a tasty Credence Clearwater Revival like blues rockin’ guitar and Macy adding a little of John Fogerty’s rough edged wit and vocal delivery. “Torn and Frayed” kicks off with a catchy jam between Macy and drummer Kevin Haverty. Though Macy mines licks from classic blues rock guitarists, the rawness, Macy’s high range vocals, and the lack of bass here brings White Stripes to mind....Macy throws in a skronkin’ saxophone for “Lying Eyes.” The song jams and the sax solo toward the end of the song is pretty killer...“Dreams” has a countrified Neil Young and Crazy Horse like guitar tone that makes it fun to hear...I like two thirds of “What If…” which is better than many discs I get.

Ken, you're stuff sounds great! You're playing has become so explosive yet retains the maturity that you've always had, and I love the lyrical content. It's always great to hear songwriters with a message that actually have an understanding of their instrument. "Heaven's on Fire" is a really professional sounding and memorable tune, and you have a great voice.
