Album Notes

This new disc - "Best of 5 Live" - put together to commemorate The Kennebunk Coffeehouse's 5th year birthday, is a superb collection of live cuts by some of today's most important singer songwriters.

This album is sure to become a classic for all fans of the likes of John Gorka, Patty Larkin, Lucy Kaplansky, Ellis Paul, Ed Gerhard or any other of the 17 artists that are featured on the disc.

Each recording has an energy that helps transform the listener to a place that makes one feel as though they were actually there (or wish they were). The sound quality is phenomenal and the layout superb.

Check out Lori McKenna's song "If I Ask" - recently made famous by Faith Hill on her album "Fireflies". This is the only live performance of the song that inspired Miss Hill to record 3 or McKenna's songs on her new release. This song alone makes this album a collectors item.

The bottom line - This disc is magical.

Two of our favorite press quotes so far:

"Best of 5 Live is a splendid serving of 17 acoustic performances crafted to reflect the "feel" of the live Kennebunk Coffeehouse experience."

"Best of 5 Live does not disappoint. Acoustic music as acoustic music should be. Sweet, sorrowful, lively, exquisite, alive, performed by singer-songwriters at the top of their game." - Chuck Ginsberg - Spotlight Magazine
