notes
Debut CD by Kenne "CannonBall" Cramer.
Former guitarist for Lee Roy Parnell, T. Graham Brown,
Ronnie Milsap, Joy Lynn White, and even Engelbert Humperdink.
While living on the bluesy side of the tracks the "CannonBall" draws from
all of his influences including jazz, soul, rock, funk, and of course the blues.
Check out the soulful "Sweet on Me", or the rockin' "Christine", or how about the T-Bone meets Robin Ford on "Midnite Ride". From Memphis to Texas to the Delta to New Orleans & beyond you can take a road trip without ever leaving the house. Backed by a band of Groove Meisters featuring keyboard wiz Johnnie Neel (Allman Brothers, Dickie Betts), and sax man Dennis Taylor (Duke Robillard, Grooveyard), you just can't miss.
So jump in the back seat, strap yourself in and take her for a spin.

Fantastic Debut, Where's the new LP? Keep a Rockin' Kenne!
author: Greg Munroe/BluesReviews Inc.Kenne's debut CD is a fantastic debut! He's got blues, rock jazz etc... for influences. This CD has been on my playlist for several months now, & every time i listen to it i hear more & more influences. (From T-Bone Walker to Chuck Berry) Kenne's got some great folks working with him too including: Keyboardist Johnny Neel(allman Bros.),& sax player Dennis Taylor(The Duke Robillard Band). So that there should tell ya something, Right? 13 tracks in all! This CD proves he's got the talent & ability to be the next big thing, THIS IS AMERICAN MUSIC! Pick this baby up before they're gone! Rock on, Greg.
Takes the listener on a hugely enjoyable musical odyssey.
author: Mick Rainsford (Blues in Britain)Kenne “Cannonball” Cramer’s ‘Midnite Ride’ takes the listener on a hugely enjoyable musical odyssey through American roots music, ranging from the blues infused rock’n’roll of ‘Good Lovin’ (Is Hard To Find)’, with it’s wailing harp, rocking piano (Neel again) and hard riffing sax (Dennis Taylor), though the rockabilly flavoured ‘Honey Pie’ with it’s jangling piano and steel guitar, to the Chet Atkins’ styled musical snippet of ‘Fight Song’. In between, Cramer, who has a natural rock’n’roll vocal style crosses Jerry Lee Lewis with Chuck Berry on the wildly rocking ‘Christine; lays down some mellow late-night grooves, replete with rolling piano and baying sax on ‘Sweet On Me’; conjures up the image of T-Bone on the 50’s big band styled R&B of the hot swinging ‘Cannonball Jumps Again’; while infusing ‘Blues In The Morning’ with traces of “Hi-Heel Sneakers’ and “I Like Bread And Butter’ plied by Neel’s hard rocking piano and Cramer’s Duane Eddy inflected blues guitar. Cramer’s Delta styled slide on ‘Black Widow’, the jumping title track with it’s swinging fat toned guitar and cool jazzy B3, and the Jimmy McCracklin / rockabilly hybrid ‘I Don’t Know’ are further delights on this fine set. Great CD - Kenne is a fabulous guitarist!
author: Lynn CallbeckKenne's debut CD is a great showcase of his many talents, showing he's a triple threat: a gifted song writer, guitarist & singer. It's hard to choose a favorite track: Maybe the rockin' "Good Lovin'" or the sexy "Sweet on Me". But if I had to pick just one, it'll probably be the bluesy "Black Widow". What a fun CD!
