The release of "Hero's Highway" marks the debut solo recording of guitarist Ken Sebesky. Known for his work with Daryl Hall and John Oates, vocalist Nancy LaMott and arranger/orchestrater Don Sebesky (among others), Ken is joined on his new CD by a stellar backup band who's combined credits include work with Chaka Khan, Dave Valentin, Gloria Estefan and Gavin DeGraw.
According to Ken, "after many years of backing up so many fine musicians and vocalists as a sideman, it gives me great pleasure to finally showcase my writing and playing in a setting wholly my own."
Ken credits his bassist and engineer, Greg Novick for his assistance during the recording of "Hero's Highway"." I'm especially pleased with the way Greg recorded the acoustic guitars; very present and punchy, while still retaining a natural acoustic warmth." Greg also recommended Rodney Howard (drums) and Dave Anthony (percussion) to join Ken on his recording, along with Charlie Ernst on piano, Tom Timko on saxophone, and Frank D.Fagnano on additional synth and percussion.(Fagnano also mixed and mastered the cd).

A TEN !!! - Spectacular All The Way
author: All-Guitar-Hiram-BKen Sebesky is a hidden treasure! STUNNING musicality while not "muso" - VERY easy to listen to. Adventurous playing while restrained. Beautifully mature writing without trying to prove a point. Truly a great band all 'round. Also a FANTASTIC mix by Frank D. Fagnano. This is the FINEST debut I have heard in years - maybe even since Metheny's first record - really... This is a MUST BUY for yourself and your friends! H.B.

author: fatman ragthe cream rises to the top. the new york areas premier session guitar player shows his writing talents in an array of touching, moving , personal, and full groove genres. the stellar guitar chops are there for the seasoning. this is high test aural expression in an age of plus and regular. ken sebesky has offered up a peice of himself to those willing to embrace similar sensitivities and,, groovabilites. i simply love this cd,, and so will you. ff
