The “Ken Smith, Christmas Album” marks the release of his second CD in the past few years. This 9-song set of keyboard and synth instrumental arrangements include a mix of Christmas favorites old and new. All selections were arranged and produced by Ken at his studio.
Tackling classic Christmas songs can be a difficult challenge, as even those who embrace modern praise & worship styles are often loathe to have their Christmas traditions tinkered with. One hopes that a certain amount of reverence will be felt in the standard Christmas hymns such as “Away in the Manger” and “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”. Other Titles include Carol of the Bells, Mary Did You Know, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, The Holly and the Ivy, Ding Dong Merrily on High, Go Tell it on the Mountain, and Let There be Peace on Earth.
The intent of this album is that both traditionalists and contemporary music fans will find much to love about these selections.
Ken’s acclaimed first album, “God Bless America” was released shortly after September 11, 2001. In 2003, thousands of copies of the album were requested by the United States Pentagon and provided at no charge to the coalition troops deployed in Iraq.
