ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In this Sangster Music Productions endeavour, you will find the deeply passionate melodies of Astor Piazzolla become the centerpiece for a double quartet's stellar interplay.

An elegant mixture of classical, tango and jazz is performed by some of Edmonton's most respected musicians:

Joanna Ciapka-Sangster - Violin
Anna Kozak - Violin
Rhonda Henshaw - Viola
Ronda Metszies - Cello
Wayne Feschuk - Piano
John Taylor - Acoustic Bass
Sandro Dominelli - Drums
Kent Sangster - Saxophone

With the release of their debut album, OBSESSION, an experiment with classical strings and jazz rhythms, this group has arrived in style. Early in 2007 the group received a Juno Nomination for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year. Just a few months ago were they were honored to receive a Western Canadian Music Award for Outstanding Jazz Recording. The response from the jazz community has been tremendous and with that the group is preparing to go back into the studio for their sophomore recording.
