Album Notes

At 15 years old, I really pissed off my mom when I traded my school-band trumpet for a guitar. She got over it, and I got an itch I'm still scratchin'.

Born and raised a fourth-generation Coloradoan, I've worked as a janitor, dish washer, water & sewer plant operator, ski area snow maker and snow cat driver, carpenter, farmer and rancher, horse trainer, park ranger, and photographer. I've been around, and melded these experiences into a simple style of guy and guitar.

For years I've made my home on a small ranch in South Park, Colorado. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful, creative, and spiritual places on the planet. I share this home with my wife, Carol Ekarius, a writer and an endless inspiration.

I think mountain music might best describe what I do.

Heartfelt, raw and sweet.

This CD holds echoes of Colorado's wild natural country in the tone and pacing of each song. The raw sound of the artists voice creates an atmosphere reminiscent of My Morning Jacket. The Bush "bash" is a nice counter-point to the otherwise serious material.
