Patty Keough is an award-winning, Massachusetts-based, professional musician. In the five years that Keough has been performing professionally, she has jumped in and learned the music business from the ground up. "and gets by with a little help from my friends" - pk

In 2002 Keough has won:

Â* the "Best of Folk" category in the Worcester Phoenix/wormtown.org music poll (nominated three years in a row - 2000, 2001, 2002), Worcester, MA

Â* the Cape Fear Music Festival "Songwriter High Noon Showdown" - songwriting and performance competition, Cape Fear, North Carolina.

and is booked at every known music venue in New England and beyond. In her home state of Massachusetts these include- The Acton Jazz Café, The Charles Playhouse, Club Passim, Java Hut, JohnStone's Inn, Kendall Café, Natick Performing Arts Center and the Sit'n Bull Pub - Keough has also been playing all up and down the East Coast, as well as up into Toronto Canada "I haven't been able to head west yet but that's next!".

Estrogen Festival - in 1999 Keough created The Estrogen Festival, a yearly benefit festival - this tongue-firmly-in-cheek road show of male and female musicians playing the entire month of September benefits a different charitable organization each year. The cause has helped (chronologically) 1999-Children's Friends of Worcester, MA, 2000-Stray Pets in Need in Wellesley, MA, 2001-Food Pantries, individual food pantries throughout New England.

Keough hosted an incredibly original and successful open mic at the Java Hut in Worcester, MA for 3 years (1998-2001), and is currently hosting an open mic at the Sit'n Bull Pub in
Maynard, MA.

Keough's CD - "Watching the World" - was released in December 2001 and is available for purchase.

Her music, professionalism, superior songwriting and stage savvy, dedication to craft, and attitude has built her a loyal following of fans and has earned her the respect of the music community - both from her fellow performers and from the owners & staff of the venues that she's worked with. She always brings a wonderful mix of songs, music, and warmth to her shows.

"I think we should all help anywhere we can - anyone, any living thing - it's my passion and my penance (for all the years that I didn't do the right thing). Sometimes I end up talking with the audience as much as playing for them!" "...of course it's also about eating good bar-b-que, laughing, playing some music and having some fun with your friends!" pk

ah...Viva la difference'
This effort by Ms Keough is a breath of fresh air in this age of the Britney's & Whitney's of Pop culture. Patty's clarity comes though on each track and is sure to draw the listener in immediately. Heartfelt and mature, Ms Keough is sure to resonate for a long time.

Wonderful voice, great energy!
Patty is the real deal. The music and the person. A wonderful voice, thoughtful lyrics and charming songs all convey a truly vibrant and buoyant spirit. I'm glad to know her, and proud to recommend her music.

Patty's music makes me cry (it's a good thing)
Here is a copy of some correspondence I had with Patty three days after buying "Watching the World".....

"Hey Patty!

I think a thank you is in order. Your CD has slapped me across the
face, taken me outside a beaten me with raw emotion...I believe it was Ralph Waldo Emerson that said "If you laugh, think, and cry each day, you have had one heck of a day". I have laughed (a little), cried (a lot), and thought (way too much) while listening to your music over the past few days. I have defective tear ducts...I don't cry, not by choice, but because I can't...your songs have created one of the most wonderful emotions I could ever ask for...the gift of tears! Thank you so much!!! The smiles have been equally as wonderful. You have provoked a lot of memories to come to the forefront of my consciousness. I have always loved your music, but the tracks on your CD are absolutely fabulous. YOU have made me think a little more and about a few more things.

Thank You Patty!"

A truely wonderful disc.....buy it today!!

Patty's cd is FABULOUS! They lyrics are funny, touching, and oh so real! It's like sitting across the table with a good friend talking about how crazy life can get - but laughing just the same - cause what else is there to do really??? Great songs by an incredibly talented artist!

It hits the spot everytime!!
The first time I heard this CD, it never left my player for at least a week. The songs range form quiet and soulful to fast and funny. My favorite song is Just One More. I can't listen to it enough. I can't wait to hear more from Patty in the future!!!
