notes

This is The Kerry Boys' (Pierce Campbell and Mark James) first recording and was released on CD in March of 1997 and has been widely praised for the quality of performance and sound.

The Kerry Boys signature vocal harmonies are the highlight of the recording.

The CD was recorded over two days in the studio with few overdubs giving it a nice 'live' feel with instrumentation including guitars, tenor banjo, mandolin, bass and vocals.

Included in the recording are original compositions written by Pierce Campbell,'Mercy It's A Shame',' The Laddies From Kerry', ' Bredalbane's Reel ( and instrumental ) and their most popular sing-a-long, 'A Pint Or So' , as well as a fine selection of traditional Irish pub songs.

  • Essential for any pub/trad Irish music fan

Want to know how amazing this collection of Irish songs are? Having heard a copy of it three-four years ago when I lived in Connecticut, I never forgot it despite having returned the copy when I moved out to San Jose. Every so often I googled to find them, with nary a hit, until very recently they came up, and now I'm ordering the CD. The songs here stuck in my head for three years. It's ~that good~ of an album. Musically, it's traditional Irish pub music, with great melodies and sing-alongs. A bargain at any price just to hear "Pint or So" alone. Slainte!

  • I loved this album and highly recommend it to any irish music fans.
