The Kerry Boys are Mark James, originally from the county Kerry Ireland now a Cheshire, CT resident, and Pierce Campbell from Woodbury, CT. These two dynamic and popular Connecticut performers have combined their talents 13 years ago to form a popular Irish music duo. Together and separately they have dazzled fans of all ages from Maine to New York with their humorous high-energy performances and engaging style of Irish ballads and sea songs.
Live in the Studio is their second CD and features bluegrass legend Phil Rosenthal on banjo and bassist Tony Pasqualoni. The album was conceived to give fans a recording of the full band that has been playing together for several years at outdoor summer concerts and festivals. Live in the Studio give listeners a great sounding CD with the "live" feel people have loved about The Kerry Boys for years.
Live in the Studio features many classic Irish pub songs like Finnigan's Wake, and The Rattlin' Bog, as well as some new classics like Bill Staines, A Place in the Choir, and Dave Mallett's, The Garden Song. This is a very upbeat CD that has been getting rave reviews from fans since it's recent release in August '03.
What makes The Kerry Boys so special is the rare combination of talents that Mark and Pierce possess. Both are strong vocalists and instrumentalists with Mark playing guitar and Pierce playing mandolin, guitar and banjo. This enables them to sing pristine harmonies rarely heard anymore, while backing them up with powerful and expressive instrumentation. Their performances are truly a shared experience as they engage audiences of all ages in singing and clapping along. The addition of Phil and Tony rounds out the depth of the music, taking it to new heights.

I have followed Mark James for a lot of years and admire his voice very much. Didn't know Pierce Campbell but together they are most admirable listening entertainment. I like it and thanks.

Old Fashioned Magic
author: Carl M. Nielsen
This is folk at its best. Simply a masterpiece. It's really breathing and comming alive, going straight to the heart. It's pure poerty, with a glance of the 50's and 60's. Recalls and bring back the magic of such giants as The Kingston Trio,The Ian Cambpell Group, The Clacy Brothers, The Highwaymen, The Limeliters and The Dubliners. It must be impossible not to like this album. I almost cried first time I heard it!
