Amazing Solo Record That I Keep Returning to
author: Port of Dream
This is one of the most honest, well-produced, and catchiest DIY solo albums I've heard in a loooooong time. I got this cd a good while ago and I still listen to it on a regular basis. It's one of those cds that I put on if I want to be put into a good, chill mood. Played this cd on the way to the beach with my girlfriend a while back and I have to say that it is a perfect summer album. It is perfectly balanced with upbeat/uptempo numbers like Les is More and Island Hopper and the darker material like Work it out and The Rush. I highly recommend this album to anyone who likes a solid and varied singer-songwriter album.

rewarding with each listen....

From start to finish, this album grabs your attention and holds it all the way through. The test of a good CD is often whether or not one can put it in the player, press play, and walk away knowing one will be satisfied throughout one\'s listening time. Such is the case for \"Waltzing on Egg Shells.\" It bounces around from being at times poppy, others melodic, still others are full of the sentiments and experiences brought by love and marriage. In this regard, life\'s pendulum often swings but Kevin\'s music and lyrical talent are with out a doubt up to this challenge. Consequently, this album is interesting, which is significantly more than anything I can say for 99% of the music industry, and grips you from \"les is More\" through the remix of \"Work it Out.\" I can\'t help but think this writing experience had to have been somewhat therapeutic to compose. It certainly is when put through my headphones......I enjoy something different about it each time I listen to it. I suggest you do the same!

Outstanding

This album is a masterpiece. It's probably one of my top three favorite albums of the past decade. It offers terrific vocal style, great melodies and catchy hooks. However, what separates this album from others is the unrivaled lyrical storytelling. Kevin conveys the kind of passion that you occasionally find in a great novel, if you’re lucky, but rarely will you find it in this medium. By the end of the album you’ve ridden an emotional rollercoaster that is so great that you can’t wait to get back in line. Personally, I’ve gotten back in line so many times that it’s impossible to count anymore. I think that everybody should have the chance to be so lucky.

picked this up based on earlier Picadilly Circus material; wasn't disappointed

I was blown away by how different this is sonically (and sometimes lyrically) from Kevin's work with Picadilly Circus. But that's not a bad thing at all. The production on this album is amazing; the sound is crystal clear and the ambient sounds work like another instrument. Great, straightforward go-for-the-throat lyrics and I love the fact that this CD blends together so smoothly that it could almost be one track.
