Album Notes

Atmosphere...Thats what we captured on "Deutschland"..
Ritchie Buzz and I are always very inspired every time we tour Germany and especially when we play in Berlin. We always listen to Iggy Pops "Lust For Life" cd in the van as we enter Berlin.
I planned on recording in Berlin but it just wasnt financially feasible. So we recorded it in the south of France in a very old stone house studio filled with ghosts.
This is Kevin K cd number 18 in studio recordings..
I wanted the listener to feel like they were sitting in a smoke filled cafe in the Schoneberg district of Berlin at 3am in the morning having a drink in a dark corner table. You know the sound of cold rain drops echoing off whats left of the Berlin Wall in Potsdamerplatz. I wanted to try and recapture the "Hansa By The Wall" studio. I needed to have Deutschland have the citys ambience imprinted in the grooves of the cd.
"Intrusive", "American Sector" and "Red Haired Girl", really have that Bowie "Heroes" and Iggy Pop "Passanger" sound and feel.
I love those songs !!
So this is my tribute to the great city of Berlin and to all the good people I have met in the past 12 years all around Germany.
Deutschland is the cd and the name of the next Kevin K European tour 2009... Ich bin ein Berliner !!
