In a world of few absolutes, this is one: KEVIN MEANEY was born to entertain. From his earliest days as a singing altar boy at Mass, he's gone on to achieve mass approval for his singular brand of comedy that includes acting out stories, musical flights of fancy and telling tales on the family. As the Washington Post said, "Picture the precocious love child of Jonathan Winters and Ethel Merman and you have some idea of Kevin Meaney's act." It's no wonder then that he's one of the top draws on the comedy scene today spreading goodwill and madcap humor wherever he goes.
Recent credits include starring in his own half-hour comedy special for Comedy Central in ' 99 and opening on Broadway for pal Jerry Seinfeld at the Broadhurst Theatre in a very successful pairing in ' 98.

From his early years doing stand-up in San Francisco and Boston (his two comedy homes) he's gone on to become a top headliner on the club circuit and has amassed an impressive list of credits along the way. His first HBO special in ' 86 catapulted him to the forefront of the comedy scene. That same year he was cast in the feature film, "Big" opposite Tom Hanks. In ' 90 - ' 91 KEVIN starred in the CBS sitcom, "Uncle Buck," a spin-off series based on the John Candy film. His second HBO special soon followed along with appearances on "Letterman", "Good Morning America," "Live With Regis And Kathie Lee" and more. Among KEVIN's proudest achievements are his dozen appearances on "The Tonight Show," many with Johnny Carson behind the desk...a true Holy Grail for stand-ups. In addition, he's an Emmy winner from his appearance on the San Francisco PBS show, "Comedy Tonight" and he hosted the Cable ACE award-winning series, "London Underground."

In 1996, KEVIN wrote, produced and starred in a one-man autobiographical play titled, "Vegas Vows," which premiered at the prestigious U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen before going on to a successful summer run in Boston. "Vegas Vows" recounted and ill-fated weekend in Las Vegas in which KEVIN met and married a woman the same night (at a drive through wedding chapel, no less!) and the complications that arose with the sobering dawn of the new day. Steve Martin called it, "The most innovative, heart-rending and funny show I've seen in a long, long time."
Known for drawing upon his family relationships for much of his material, KEVIN has made such lines as "That's not right" and "We're big pants people" (delivered in the tremulous voice of his mother) catch-phrases for hilarity. People tell him all the time that his travails with mom, dad, and siblings and, of course, Aunt Rose, remind them of their own families. At present, he can be seen in Toronto in the musical HAIRSPRAY.

    I was at college about 16 years ago watching tv with a few friends when this bloke came on, i think it was the Canadian Just For Laughs comedy festival. We were all unable to breath we were laughing so hard. I remember tears rolling down my face as he sang the i don't care song. I'm so glad i've found this cd!!

    It was great fun being reminded of so many things near and dear from my own childhood days in a big family! Kevin spells it out to a "T" and then some! I love We're Going To Lose the House and Big Pants People! I quote lines from All You Can Eat regularly. My son and I first heard many of the topics on the CD many years ago and we found ourselves falling on the carpet trying to catch a breath from laughing so hard! I just bought an extra copy of this CD to send to him in Austrlia to share with his Aussie friends! Thanks for the memories, Kevin!

    The material on this CD was great. A nice mix of some of his standard material and some stuff I hadn't heard from him before. Very, very good. But when will Kevin have a DVD. A good portion of what makes him funny is his physical delivery. Being able to see him perform would add to it.

    I have always loved Kevin Meaney and miss not seeing him on TV more often. I went to his website and was thrilled to find out he has a CD. I first put it on in my car on the way to work.     This CD is a hoot! Kevin does a bang up job of describing family members and relatives so odd and yet family. He also does a great job picking up expressions that I recognize from my youth ... such as GET THAT PUSS OFF YOUR FACE! As seen from a child's eye, THAT expression IS hard to understand.     I watched his HBO specials a many (oops!) years back and loved them. About 5 years ago, I won tickets to see him at a comedy club in Virginia Beach, where I met him and got his autograph on a napkin (Kevin, I have it framed...No, I'm not a stalker...). I loved every minute of the new CD and hope a DVD will follow soon (hint, hint). On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate it an 11....Thanks for making my sides hurt.

    I was watching a docmentary on comedy on Comedy Central asking famous comedians who their personal favorite comedians were. Kevin Meaney was mentioned more times than anyone! I ordered this CD because he probably has the funniest act I've ever seen, and the album documents a typically insane, idiotic and absolutely hilarious headline set by Kevin Meaney, I think one of the greats and certainly a true original.

    This CD is the next best thing to seeing him in person (something I've done three times). You'll not tire of hearing the CD over and over. Although the famous "We are the World" isn't on there because you need the visual to make it work, all of the material on the CD is A+ Meaney. I thought there was something wrong with the CD at first until I realized I hadn't turned "shuffle" off on my player. Aarrgh. "That's not right."

    As far as I know, this is the only CD or DVD of Mr. Meaney's work. It is not to be missed. This is a very imaginative comic and the CD contains all the bits and taglines associated with him ("That's Not Right". "You're Like A Boody Man" etc.) However, it is anything but a predictable performance. Recorded at a small club in Michigan, Meaney's interplay with his audience alone goes places you do not expect. Very funny!

His routines are incredibly funny and ring with that element of truth that lies behind most good comedy. His intonations and impressions of people in the family are priceless.     We love Kevin Meaney and hope that he will one day come to the casinos in Eastern Connecticut to perform, either Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. He'd be a big draw! My b-in-law, Ken, recorded his cable tv special (comcast) a year ago? 2004? and we've all watched it a dozen times. The CD is a nice portable version of it, that we could listen to in the car. Still, there's nothing to compare seeing him live, or on video! Also, CDbaby.com is the nicest (yes, nicest) business to do business with on the web. The best!

    My partner and I have always enjoyed Kevin Meaney's work. We were talking about him the other night, and wondered if he had a CD out. So I went to his website and found out about That's Not Right. We laughed until our posteriors fell off. Just plop! Fell off. I told him that was going to happen. But he didn't listen.     Bought this CD as a gift to the family for Christmas and it was enjoyed by all. The language gets a little dicey in a couple of spots (for younger children) and the performance is choppy, as it's not a CD of one concert, but more a compilation of his work. That having been said, Kevin is a Comic Genius, and the CD is representative of this man's work. CD Baby, like Kevin Meaney, did a flawless job of delivering!!!

    This is one of the funniest comedy CD's I've ever heard. Meaney has both new material and older stuff, so it's not entirely what you've heard at his shows.     Kevin Meaney is as funny as Buddy Hackett, Mel Brooks, and Phyllis Diller and he changes voices so much you get nuts, like listening to Lenny Bruce. He is George Carlin being funny, if George Carlin could be funny. He's like Olson & Johnson, you don't know what the hell is going to happen. I listened with my daughter and I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes, and made strange noises that were not cool. Why are there not more Kevin Meaney albums? That's not right.

    The first half of this CD was everything I've ever come to expect from Kevin Meaney. Just absolute hysterical insanity. Then, about halfway through, he seems to lose some steam (as does the audience.) I wouldn't have missed picking this CD up for the world, but I do suggest listening to it in two stages. Too much of a good thing definitely applies here.

    I have bought eight comedy CDs this year and this is the funniest one I have ever heard. Kevin Meaney is without a doubt one of the most naturally funny people I have ever seen performing and this CD captures one of the world's funniest comedians at the top of his form.
