Overall the CD is a good listen. I absolutely love cut number 6, "Fresh Anointing". It is powerful and inspiring. I especially love the lyrics that have Jesus resting on the throne of our praises.

Excellent indie recording

Kevin Neal has come out of nowhere with music that is inspiriring, uplifting and that gives hope to the idea of "real" music. He doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the major label singers, but the pure raw talent in his music speaks for itself. You can tell he really feels what he's singing. There's a sensitivity in his voice that draws you in. Kudos to this guy for doing a great job!!!!

Inspiring!
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.com
Kevin Neal incorporates a variety of influences into his music ranging from gospel to secular. The eight tracks on Fresh Anointing are worship songs with jazz and world influences. Kevin is a "silky balladeer" who sings from the heart. Neal is a man of faith, therefore, God and religious issues are the themes of his songs. John A. Crosian II is the producer and programmer of the CD and is responsible for the majority of instrumentation. 'Now and Forever' is the opening song of worship. It blends jazz with spirited, world tempos. The song takes a number of turns from a psalm reading in which Kevin leads "magnify His name" and the chorale responds. Further into the song Neal shares a few words of wisdom. 'I Owe You' is an up-tempo song melding a funky groove with more solid preaching. Fresh Anointing is an appropriate name for this CD of inspiring music!
