Album Notes

Born in Tokyo, raised in southern California and Germany by globetrotting school teachers, Kevin was already hard at work as a high school English teacher by the tender age of 21. Realizing that he could not keep his music inside, he took a leap of faith, and started touring full time in 1997. In the past ten years Kevin has sold 50,000 records through independent distribution, sung on the Today Show, in Carnegie Hall, and headlined at the Phildephia Folk Festival.

For his debut EP, Things to Keep in Mind While Balancing, which was released in Summer ‘06 on his own Brilliant Records label, Kevin performed most of the instruments and all of the vocals. Darren Rust, a well respected IPR instructor, and master mixer, chipped in on some guitars and programming as well. Griffin Woodworth, played cello.

The EP played on over 100 radio stations last summer, charting as high as #3 in such markets as NYC, Tampa Bay and Milwaukee, just to name a few. MTV has just signed an agreement with Kevin to play his EP on three of their original programs this spring, including The Real World.

Kevin’s concern for the environment has led him to purchase carbon offsets for his touring in '06/'07. Since Kevin’s music derives so much of its inspiration from the beauty of the Earth, he feels that it is important to promote folks like Terra Pass, who support alternative energy sources which will allow our grandchildren to enjoy the same beauty we do.

A NEW and UPCOMING artist!
author: Rider34
I have had the great pleasure to see the Kevin Steinman Band in concert several times. I would never miss those concerts for the world. Steinman’s lyrics never cease to amaze me. They are meaningful and stimulating. Kevin’s musicianship inspires so many things. His EP album, Things to Keep in Mind While Balancing, is a great display of Kevin Steinman’s musical talents, but as I have seen in his concerts, he has so much more to share with the Indie genre. Looking forward to a new album soon!

Soulfull voice...

I was lucky enough to come across Kevin's music on myspace. I must say, the beauty and truth in his voice is something I haven't heard in a long, long time. He sings with a depth in his soul that is so apparent and real. His guitar melodies are soothing and I definitely recommend his album. My favorite song? Wish...

I love Kevins voice :)
author: dizzie lizzie
Well when I first experienced Kevins voice it was in a accepella group by the name of Four Shadow. They were great but Kevin was always my favorite. Than I discovered he had a solo album. I bought it right away and I listen to it every single day. No exceptions. Kevin is great. He better remember me when he's famous though!!

Very cozy!
author: Ruri
I can only listen to limited songs over and over when I take music outdoors with me. They should have cozy lyrics, melodies and voices, otherwise I would soon start having a headache, unfortunately. I think he has everything I would need in a "music-to-go". He even has some extras, good nature and good looks! wow
