Kevon Re’Mon’te

Kevon, singing at the age of 3, was born into a musical family that used singing or instrument playing just to pass the time.

Performing in night clubs as the age of 14, Kevon’s first group to perform with was the “Soft Tones”. During these early years, Kevon sang in Doo Wop groups. Performing on stage with “The Manhatten’s”, “The Jones”, “Bohannon” and many more.

In the Eighty’s Kevon signed with RCA Records recording his single, “A Place For Love”, that was released. He went on to record background vocals for many other projects.

In the ninety’s Kevon decided to go back to the giver of gifts, singing Gospel with the Stella Award Winning Choir, “New Jersey Mass”. During the time Kevon was singing with “New Jersey Mass” he also sang background for Garth Brooks at the 1994 Grammy’s.

Singing behind the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin on 5 different occasions, Kevon also appeared with her on the nationally televised “Aid’s Benefit Concert”, along with Elton John, Rod Steward, Smokey Robinson, Dustin Hoffman, Robert DeNiro, Bonnie Raitt and Gloria Estefan.

Kevon has a four octave vocal range. Kevon’s natural baritone comes so exceptionally close to the sound of Nat King Cole, it impresses all who listen. In 2002, Kevon began performing Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra for senior centers and assisted living homes in Virginia, Maryland and D.C.

In 2006 Kevon moved to Branson Missouri to perform with the show “Tops and Temps”. Currently he is performing on center stage at the Branson Showcase, acting and singing in the gospel play “Isle Of Dreams” under the direction of Michael O’Hara, 4 –time Grammy Award Writer, and performing at “Club Vegas”, a dinner theatre. In 2007 he has been signed to be singing weekly at the “Chateau On The Lake”.

Kevon’s newest release “To All The World I Sing My Music” was written by Mark Traversino and produced by Gary Paxton.

  • He's the best!
    author: Susan Grace

Kevon is wonderful. He sings like Nat King Cole, and I have always loved his music. I'm happy to call him one of my best friends. You won't be disappointed with any of his albums. I to, do not care for country, and love all the old songs Kevon sings. He does indeed have a voice as "smooth as silk". Take a listen to one of the finest singers I've ever heard.

  • This guy can sing! His future is limitless.

I first heard Kevon at the Club Vegas in Branson which is a island of sophistication in an ocean of mediocrity. The average age of the Branson patron is dead. And I like anything that is un-COUNTRY and in Branson, that is almost impossible to find. The front desk clerk at our hotel suggested that my wife and I try this nightclub which was more aimed at our interests. And she was right on. Kevon was the best of the 4 or 5 singers at Club Vegas and he had a real sense of style and a flare for entertaining. His voice is very close to Nat King Cole's in timbre and tone. He could do a tribute show to NKC if he wanted to and he told us that he had been offered a chance to tour doing that, but that he chose to stay in Branson and was working on his own CD with some original tunes and with some NKC and Sinatra classics. I pre-paid him the cash and gave him my address and asked that he send me one when they were ready. It arrived today and it is everything he said it would be and more. I think as soon as a real talent scout finds this guy, we'll all be watching him grow into one of the best entertainers around. He can really make the songs sound personal and involved. I can't wait to return to Branson in May to tell him in-person how much I enjoyed his CD.
