notes

About the Performers:

The members of Clearly Three (Richard Fletcher, clarinet; Kristine Klopfenstein Fletcher, bassoon; and Barbara Wimunc-Pearson, piano) officially came together as an ensemble, Clearly Three, in 2002-03. The repertoire performed on this compact disc represents some of their favorite compositions from among approximately 160 works for this combination of instruments. The Fletcher's research on trios for clarinet, bassoon and piano will culminate in a guide to this repertoire. It is hoped that this CD will inspire and encourage composers to write for this combination of instruments. Clearly Three performed in Tokyo at the ClarinetFest 2005, Conference of the International Clarinet Association and at numerous other venues.

Reviews:

"The Gutiérrez Trio . . . a better performance cannot be imagined. Clearly Three is clearly simpático. The performances delivered by Clearly Three are excellent and uniform throughout the disc. The ensemble precision, technical accuracy, and remarkably pure intonation is very impressive indeed."
