Adam Khan's debut CD concentrates on music by cuban composer Leo Brouwer and contains works from Brouwer's adolesence such as "A day in November" up to more recent pieces such as "paisaje cubano con tristeza". Adam also performs the first two books of Brouwer's famous etudes and pieces in the cuban folk tradition.The Argentinian composer Maximo Diego Pujol is represented by his Cinco preludios all written in the style of the tango and as homages to Astor Piazzolla.A Saudades from Brazil by Roland Dyens is full of the infectious rhythms of this beautiful country.Adam khan gave his first concert at age 15 and was described by the british press as "one of britains most promising musicians". Great interpretations of leo Brouwer's wonderful Cuban guitar music. I have been learning some of these pieces and these performances are really inspiring, Adam khan really knows this music well. The title track A day in November is beautiful. I also loved the Dyens saudades sounds like 2 or 3 guitars at once. highly recomended Read more...
