Album Notes

Primarily a classical guitarist, Kevin Hubbard also writes and performs other styles of music -- as evidenced by this reissue of a 1981 recording. These compositions, which range from jazz to blues to atmospheric rock, find Kevin playing a hollow-body electric guitar alongside an ensemble of highly talented studio musicians. The major league cast is comprised of multi-horn sensation Scott Robinson (Sting, Wynton Marsalis) on saxes and clarinets, highly acclaimed jazz bassist Marshall Wood (Tony Bennett, Dave McKenna), and former Tiny Tim drummer Nick Scarmack. Adding extra spice to the project are the sparkling hammered dulcimer sounds of Bentmen founder Bill Desmond, and the dynamic voice of vocalist Patty Barkas (Peter Wolf, Face to Face), who sings the disc's sole vocal number, "Why? Why Not?"
