Album Notes

Kevin Hubbard, a Boston-based classical guitarist has studied his craft in Spain with the world-renowned virtuoso Eliot Fisk. Mr. Hubbard's third CD, entitled "Catnip," features the music of 10 composers from Europe and the Americas, including such notables as J.S. Bach, Sor, Carulli, and the popular Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim. The disc also features three folk songs, a jazz guitar duet, and three of Hubbard’s originals, including the disc’s title cut, a funky musical depiction of a frisky cat under the influence of catnip. Hubbard is currently performing across North America, presenting his new concert program, “Classical Guitar with a Taste of Jazz.” The show includes classical pieces from all eras, jazz standards, folk songs, and Kevin's originals, which combine classical with other styles such as jazz, blues and folk.
