Album Notes

Kid Pan Alley started with a brilliantly obvious idea-kids make the greatest co-writers-especially when you are writing songs for kids. Imagine some of this country's finest songwriters working in a classroom overflowing with the raw creative imagination of children. Then, record the songs with some of Nashville's best-known artists including Amy Grant, Kix Brooks, Delbert McClinton, Suzy Bogguss, Raul Malo, Jonell Mosser, Tommy Sims, the Nashville Bluegrass Band, and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra and you've got Kid Pan Alley Nashville-one of the most amazing children's album ever made.
These are songs that the entire family loves. They're funny, hip, rockin', beautiful, happy, scary, inspirational and moving. They cover the musical map from R&B to reggae, country to classical, and from the Beatles to bluegrass to blues. Parents are certain to love this album just as much as the kids do.
Just imagine what it's like to be a kid living in Nashville and a song you wrote gets recorded by a Grammy winning artist that you've heard many times on the radio. It inspires kids to be creators, to work together, and to write about what is on their minds. As profits from sales go to more music enrichment programs, it also does a lot to bolster their musical education.
The Nashville CD is an exciting partnership with one of the most innovative orchestras in the country, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Produced by Kid Pan Alley founder Paul Reisler, who produced John McCutcheon's seminal children's albums, Fred Bogert, producer of perennial kids' favorite Trout Fishing in America, and Paul Gambill, Music Director of the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, there has never been another children's album like it.
Kid Pan Alley is a national program that brings songwriters into schools around the country. Check out the 1st Kid Pan Alley CD, Tidal Wave of Song and keep your eyes open at www.KidPanAlley.org for news of upcoming CD's from Portland, ME, Roanoke, VA and another from Nashville.

"Kids' music that is exactly that: Music for-and by-kids. The songs are written with a charming honesty and whimsy that only children can create. Unquestionably the most original kids' CD I've heard all year." XM Satellite Radio
"From the first notes you are hooked by the joy that went into this project....It's an album as ageless as the community that has created it, and that rings true with just one listen...Music that can be enjoyed by the entire family." MetroKids Magazine, Philadelphia, PA

Paul Reisler is the founder and Artistic Director of Kid Pan Alley as well as Trapezoid. He's just released an album with his new group, Paul Reisler & A Thousand Questions featuring Howard Levy, Angela Kaset and Ysaye Barnwell called At Night the Roses Tango.

I heard about the CD one morning on NPR so I purchased it. Actually I had the CD a while before I listened to it with my granddaughter. I liked it so much that I bought 3 more to give to friends! I especially like the variety of music that each artist performed! What a great idea.

This is a terrifically inspired and produced CD. Written and prodcued under the guidance of artisitic director Paul Reisler and others, it has so much class! And, to think that most of the songs were written by second-graders! Wow ... lets have another one.

I thought I was ordering a kids cd, for some reason, I was happy to see that it is a good mix, I am a line dance teacher and plan on using No 7 for my class next year, in Mission, Tx. And I was pleasantly surprised to see all the known artists. Had not realized who all was on the cd. Good Job!!!
