The 23 year old Angelina Kievskaya was born in Kiev (Ukraine). She started to sing at the age of 5 and went to the “National Kiev Music Academy (department for kids),one of the most prestigious Ukraine music schools, where she followed piano- and vocal lessons. She went on a live tour with the “Lubistok” and “Gaivka” choirs. Now she’s living already 7 years in Belgium and picked up her music education in Gent.

Music is the key factor that reigns her whole life and during one of her karaoke performances she was discovered by Peter-Jan Van Der Gucht ( former manager of amongst others Bart Herman…..).

He decided to create a project support team for the artist with one mission: to shape a successful new singer star. For two years these people were working in silence and Werner Cleerbout ( former singer songwriter of Big Deal ) became the project manager in charge of the musical development of Angelina.

She took close harmony lessons, dance sessions and other star academy courses with only one .. to become and to stay part of those real live artists who are able to survive in the jungle of music land.. and with a view on the international audience.

Finding the good vibes, lyrics and music was the next step. Very quickly, it became clear that Angelina was not intended to be a pure pop singer. Her very special voice timbre, made her predestined to a new kind of world music based upon a mixture of oriental melancholy and well arranged folk-pop, ambient, new-age and orchestral music.

The project team decided that the lyrics should be partly in English and partly in her mother tongue, thus emphasising her oriental looks and roots. All songs are written by Werner Cleerbout, Angelina Kievskaya and JP Cornelis. JP Cornelis is also the man behind the arrangements of all Kievskaya songs.

Paris was chosen to be the scene for the realisation of a video clip, whilst musicians and artist are constantly rehearsing for their first live performances, already scheduled for the early summer period.

The first audience tests were very convincing and the happy few who could already admire the show were super enthusiast.
