Album Notes

An infectious blend of pop, rock, and electronica, Killer Flamingos produce a sound that is turning heads and capturing listeners everywhere. This quintet consists of Darren Drake on keyboards, Steve Cooley on drums, vocalist Michelle Carravallah, guitarist Todd Best and David Gondoly on bass guitar. With a mix of choice covers and original material, Killer Flamingos have quickly amassed a large following of devoted fans throughout the state and are gaining recognition as one of Detroit's most promising bands.

The band has a very strong bond and its members have become like family to one another. There is no mistaking the fact that this group has a great time playing with one another, and that the fun they're having infects each audience that sees their show.

Their first CD release entitled, Sick Society, contains nine hook-laden songs, packed full with pop sensibilities. The album is rich throughout with catchy guitar riffs, undeniable rhythms, lush keyboards, and programming... all punctuated with Michelle Carravallah's powerful vocal delivery. The CD remains very true to the Killer Flamingos live show. One track in particular, Light A Candle, may seem familiar to those who frequent the website, Garageband.com. This track written by drummer/songwriter, Steve Cooley reached number one ranking by reviewers worldwide to win the March 2001 competition. Other tracks, such as the title track, Sick Society, and the catchy, Not That Stupid, leave fans singing along after their first listening and are sure to become radio hits.

Anyone who has seen Killer Flamingos can attest to their amazing live show. Superb musicianship, explosive stage presence, video-friendly looks, and concert-style lighting and sound have secured the band an important place on the Detroit music scene. Crunchy guitars, irresistible melodies, thoughtful production, and seductive vocals contribute to this band's broad appeal and make them an easy candidate for radio success. The release of their much anticipated debut album, Sick Society, promises breakthrough commercial acceptance nationwide.

This band is a VERY awesome and down-to-earth group and their music reflects every bit of it! I have had the pleasure of following their tour from Ann Arbor to Put-In-Bay and they always bring the house down! Their songs, SICK SOCIETY and NOT THAT STUPID, were crowd favorites and they even previewed a couple of their new hits such as I AM. Take the time to follow an unbelievable band, and you'll find that their following of fans would impress ANY band!
