Album Notes

Kimber’s quirky, left of center, pop/rock sensibility, has steadily garnered the attention of audiences and fans from her hometown near Washington, DC to Nashville, to Texas and Canada. She travelled to Wisconsin in July to “hand pick” a guitar, as a newly endorsed artist for McPherson Guitars (other endorsed artists include Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley).

Kimber just finished filming her first lead acting role in an indie musical drama called “Beautiful Noise” in which she performs several of her original songs. Some of her songs, written specifically for the film, are performed by other characters in the movie.

Now in the process of mixing and mastering songs for her brand new project “Comin’ On Strong” scheduled for release spring of 2011, Kimber has teamed up with three music industry veterans: Grammy Award winning mix engineer and VP of Artist Relations for Disney, Brian Malouf (Pink, O.A.R, Dave Matthews Band, Natasha Bedingfield, Michael Jackson, Pearl Jam, Pussycat Dolls, etc..), and co-producers Michael Crittenden and Doug Frasure. Selling upwards of 12,000 homemade CDs at her shows, Kimber’s new project has taken her career and sound to a whole new level and many industry professionals ARE taking Kimber pretty seriously…

With an uncountable number of shows under her belt including annual concerts in Canada, a nationwide talent search landing her a television pilot and a mentoring session with artist, Jewel, Kimber has seen her musical career expand to greater heights. Her new single, “Sorry”, is in regular rotation on 106.1FM (The River), and 105.3FM (WFIV) both in Knoxville, TN and Clarksville station 91.9FM.

While Kimber has the ability to make a cover song her very own, her unique original songs and performance style convey the human experience with a “tongue in cheek” approach. While an audience experiences a genuine passion, emotion and connection to Kimber, there is a sense of fun and a small suspicion that maybe…just maybe…she’s not taking herself too seriously!

Born into a home of musicians, Kimber’s formative musical years were influenced by the sounds of everything from Linda Ronstadt, The Pretenders and Billy Joel to Prince, Madonna and No Doubt. “There was no sense of old music or new music to me – just GOOD music.” While most ten-year-olds were learning fifth grade math, Kimber was studying classical guitar. Music was as natural as breathing and melodies wrote themselves in her head. Her ease and familiarity with a guitar has a sensual feel to it that could only come from a person who has been intimate with music her entire life

To paint a complete picture of this dedicated artist, it would be remiss not to mention her long term involvement and commitment to animals. Rescuing, rehabilitating and finding loving homes for animals in need has been an integral part of her life for years. “Making life better for animals is a huge part of what drives me every day”.

A natural extension of that drive is Kimber’s on-going “pet project”. Her song, “Strong for You” was written for the film, BEYOND THE MYTH “A Film About Pit Bulls And Breed Discrimination”. Kimber says, "I really wanted the song to be an anthem for pit bulls and their supporters - it’s for people who are fighting the battle to keep their dogs...and for the ones who have lost their companions because of a senseless law." Proceeds from the song are helping market the film and educate people. Kimber is performing at film screenings and film festivals all over the country to promote the film and its’ message.

While the future looks bright for Kimber, it all comes back to the music…and sharing that music. There never was a ‘Plan B”.
