Album Notes

Godsend is something of an odds `n ends collection for this in-demand guitarist who`s recorded with a lot of fine folk, including Amy Rigby, Billy Joe Shaver, Neilson Hubbard, Tommy Womack and Todd Snider. Both Womack and Snider turn up on these recordings, which are collected from between 1994-2002. Not quite as diverse as his two solo releases, This (2000) and Home Away (2002), these tracks lean more toward the rootsy side of the one-time leader of Will & the Bushmen. One of the standout tracks, among many, is the thick, slow blues number "No Land`s Man". There is a live duet with Joy Lynn White on Neil Young`s "Motorcycle Mama" that`s fun, too, while the disc concludes with a lively solo acoustic version of the Bill Monroe standard "Blue Moon Of Kentucky". The title track, a straight ahead roots-rocker, turned up on Snider`s Viva Satellite release of 1998. - M.O.M.
