Growing up in Austin, Texas, Kim Powell was surrounded by a super rich and exciting music scene. Early on she had the opportunity to see and hear on a regular basis, the likes of Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and other Texas giants. Garnering comparisons to Mazzy Star, and Sheryl Crow, Powell still brings her own sense of rhythm and voice that is uniquely her own.
