Do you long for the days when female vocalists could actually sing, the lyrics were great and all the instruments were real. This is classic '70s soul music from a song stylist rated by many as up there with Aretha and Etta. Absolutely brilliant.

Do you enjoy the passionate soul music of Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin and Al Green. Then, you're going to LOVE Kim Tolliver (even though you may never had hard of her until now!!).
During a recording career than spanned two decades, Cleveland based Kim Tolliver released just two albums, and only one under that name. Recorded for Chess in 1973, "Come And Get Me - I'm Ready" is a classic deep soul tour-de-force, reminiscent of and up there with anything by recently rediscovered R&B heroines Bettye LaVette and Candi Staton. Her producer/husband Freddy Briggs, based known for his classic Margie Joseph Stax productions, brings out the finest in Ms. Tolliver who sadly passed away in 2007 without ever receiving the recognition she so truly deserved.
Digitally remastered in 24 bit from the original analog Chess masters.
12 page booklet with liner notes and full discography by John Ridley.
Released by arrangement with UMG and manufactured for us by Universal Music.
