Album Notes

"You'll be comforted by Kinderknecht's songs as the entire disc is perfect for leaving in the player for soothing sounds of Native America and worldly rhythms that add percussion and even keyboards to the tracks. Wonderfully mixed and produced." --- Lucky Boyd, MyTexasMusicCornell Kinderknecht is a performer of flutes and other woodwind instruments from around the world. His original compositions and playing have been described as soothing, soaring, haunting, and playful with influences of Native America, the Middle East, India, and the Far East. His musical style draws from his experience in the areas of classical, pop, folk, jazz and world music. On his CD Returing Home, Cornell plays flutes from many cultures. He presents Native American flute, Bansuri flute from India, bamboo flute, recorder, and ocarina in beautiful and breathtaking musical settings. The flute is sometimes used as a lone solo voice or accompanied by keyboard and percussion. The music ranges from introspective to exotic to all out fun. Cornell's performance on Returning Home placed him as a finalist for "Musician of the Year" at the 2006 Texas Music Awards."The flute play is absolutely wonderful, and the variety of musical sounds on this work is rather amazing, with influences of Native America, the orient, and even classical baroque music as part of the mix. The pieces flow well from one to another, with both gentle meditative tracks, and lively, upbeat, tracks in the mix. ... I find the music refreshingly different, engaging, and the style of play simply mesmerizing." --- Rick McDaniel, Heart of the Cedar / Voice of the Wind

Returning Home

This CD is absolutely Beautiful!! One of my very favorites and most played. Everything on this CD was written and performed by Cornell. I has great variety and really touches you. My husband and I drove up to Dallas to hear him perform this CD live. My husband who normally would not listen to this type of music for long, played the entire 3 hour trip back home. It is amazing!

Other reviews pretty much say it. Pleasantly soothing, but with enough variety to so the album holds up to repeated playing.

Returning Home frees the listener
author: Jan Kin
Cornell's music is ethereal and broadens the meaning of returning home - the home of mind, soul, and heart. The songs of the flutes give the listener freedom to wonder, wander, and always return home.
