Biography of
Cyrus Brandon Alexander
"King Cyz"
(pronounced: "King Size")

Born in Media, Pennsylvania, February 27,1979...Holy Hip-Hop/Gospel Rap Artist... Cyrus "KingCYZ" Alexander...has lived in Delaware ever since his birth (which was a "miracle" all by itself). And, after being told by doctors and specialists in fertility that they could not have any children, Cyrus' parents knew that the medical profession had its limitations and that only GOD could and would perform the miracle that they so earnestly prayed for. They strongly believed that when the season and timing were in-accordance with His Divine and Perfect Will....it would be so. From the womb KingCYZ was labeled as the "Miracle Baby" since even the doctors were stunned at how such a conception could have ever occurred.

From the beginning God had His hand upon Cyrus in the very smile which seemed to illuminate his surroundings and "draw all men unto...." the love and compassion that God had uniquely placed within him. In the early years growing-up his leadership abilities began to manifest as he would organize his peers for games, sports and the enjoyment of just being on this earth.

At the age of five he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord and began to evangelize and win souls for the Kingdom of God with a zeal and fire second to none. His boldness in confronting people as to their "soul status" and whether or not they would go to heaven or hell if they died at that very moment...was the onset of that "burning fire" that is so evident as he"spits" the lyrics of his gospel rap/holy hip-hop songs to this very day.

At the age of nine KingCYZ began to "call those things which be not as though they were" and stated that when he grew-up he wanted to be a gospel rap artist, which although humorous and strange to many, offered no hindrance to the vision and goals which continued to intensify and become more-focused than ever before. He began to record his own background tracks...as crude as they may have been...by "beat-boxing" with his mouth and using one tape-recorder to tape onto the preceding track of the other recorder...until all of the sounds were intact and then added the instrumental music from another source (which occasionally was provided by his mother who played the keyboard/piano at their church) for the accompaniment that was needed for him to effectively deliver his rap songs.

As Cyrus entered his teen years he began to receive invitations to minister his gospel raps at youth conferences, crusades, street ministries, schools & colleges, etc. and God began to strategically place people into his life who could impart their expertise, wisdom and guidance in such a way that he would mature in the Word of God and the ministry that he had been called to.

The very name...CYRUS...was handed-down through several generations of his family and had its origin in the Bible...the Book of Ezra, Chapter One and Verse One where God commissions King Cyrus of Persia who is NOT a Christian to lead the people back to Christianity and fellowship with God.

Part of the testimony of KingCYZ is that the first CYRUS was used by GOD to restore Christianity and deliver the GOOD NEWS to mankind in spite of him NOT being a Christian. But he comes as the second CYRUS....doubly-packed, armed & equipped as a born-again, spirit-filled Christian sent forth to, once again, bring the GOOD NEWS to mankind...ministering life, hope, and snatching them from the very clutches of the enemy.

During the past few years KingCYZ has ministered at events that featured such artists as "112" of Bad Boy Entertainment...Maurette Brown Clarke of Verity Records...Jacquie "Lady J" Gines of Rising Son Media...Musician, Artist and Radio Host Jeff Majors...Vocal Group "Trin-i-tee 5:7"...Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child)...and Comedian Jonathan Slocum. He has opened-up for
Platinum Recording Artist "Tonex" (toe-nay) and is featured on the song "Happy" with Ann Nesby (former lead singer with the Sounds of Blackness) on her latest album "Make Me Better".

One of his recent accomplishments is a featured spot on the song "Champions" on the newly-released album "I'm Still Here" by veteran vocalist Melba Moore.

In 2001, King Cyz's debut album, "Life or Death", got right to the point. He delivered a bold message urging his listeners to choose LIFE in CHRIST, or experience eternal damnation. The album was designed to captivate every listener with lyrics that cut like a two-edged sword and a message that would reach the masses. Let "...he that hath ears to hear..." receive what the Spirit of the Lord is delivering straight to your ears and into your heart through this powerful gospel rap ministry !!

Now, in 2005, "Wake-Up!", the smash follow-up to Life or Death, promises not to disappoint. Packed with bangin' beats, Word based rhymes, and classic collaborations, this album raises the ministry bar to a whole new level. For those feigning for Holy Hip Hop at its finest, this 15 track gem couldn't have come at a better time. 2001 provided a choice, Life or Death. 2005 will prove whether or not you learned anything in 4 years.... Wake UP!

WAKE-UP! by KingCyz is a project with much HEART and SOUL
author: Aziz Peregrino-Brimah (RAPZILLA.com)

Wake Up! by King Cyz is a project with much heart and soul. This is the kind of album I’d make. Everything about his project is perfect – the production, the lyrical prowess, and the message! This CD is called Wake Up! because for too long the church has been sleeping. This is the first song on the album and it has a latin feel to it. This would make for a good video. I can see it now… in Spain riding scooters… LOL! Okay, let me stop that right there… I could go on with that, but I won’t. The next track is “Remember.” The beat has parts of it that remind you of the song “Alright” by Freeway. Nah, I don’t listen to secular rap for entertainment, but I do have ears and know when music is done well (content is a whole other subject; yuck!). With that being said, I like this track. One thing that really sets it off is the vocals. I don’t know who sang what on this album, because – unfortunately – album credits were not supplied to me, but whoever sang on this album – THEY DID THEIR THING! Anyway, what KC is rapping about on this one is about how he can put his trust in God to make it by giving glory to him. He encourages others not to be afraid to trust their heavenly Father in the days of their youth. King Cyz has a real knack for making some soulful tracks. I wonder what his story is. Yo, Cyz, the world would want you man! But keep reppin’ Christ homie! Okay, back on track… My favorite track on the whole album is “Selah.” The chorus is hot! The female accompaniment on the chorus really set it off. Whoever mixed this track did their thing on it too! The beat is a mellow and jazzy type joint. Basically KC is talking making it within this Christian walk. The biggest struggle in our walk is our selves. Thank God he is merciful and extends grace toward us so that we can be the best child of God that we can be. Word up! Track 8 is called “Vent.” King Cyz really does that on this track too. Folks, it’s time to trust God despite what’s going on in this world, despite mess that may go on in our churches. Who do we live for? We can’t let what others do control us. If we keep looking at the negative things in this world, we can get discouraged. But, if we keep focused, knowing that God is the only one we should have allegiance to, then other things won’t move us. One of my favorite producers is on this album, y’all. So you know I’m feeling it. 4Sight Sounds produced a few tracks on this album. “I Do” is a hot track, and there is also a very “real talk” track called “Selfish.” On “Selfish,” King Cyz raps to God in first person as a Christian who wants to continue dibbling and dabbling with the world. It’s almost like a contrast to “Vent.” Here is a Christian who wants to do right, but the church has just got on his last nerve! Hey, he’s just speaking his heart. But that’s not all. He is basically a backslider asking God why would he take someone like him back after all of the dirt he has done. God’s love is stronger than our sin! Jesus’ blood will cleanse us of all unrighteousness! Thank you for your goodness Father, through your Son Jesus! Praise God! Again, the vocals were very nice on this one. I’ll leave you with this… I skipped a few tracks, but let me back track (pun intended). The song “2nd Coming” is a track I’m also feeling. The song title tells is all. But what I want to touch on is the vocal and musical arrangement. It was done very nicely. It sounds like a choir is singing on this thing! Great job! Some may not be feeling this album because it doesn’t sound hip hop enough for them. King Cyz really brings a soulful, r&b feel to the album in some instances. He does it well though, and that’s why I am still able to give it high markings. This album can also transcend into some age groups some other hip hop may not be able to get into. I can see some middle-aged person enjoying this album. That says a lot when an album can reach more than one age group. Great job bro!

Awesome and locked up with rythym and reality
author: E. Davis

Awesome and reality locked up with rhythm. This work has been marked with transparency from the artist in such a way that others will be ministered within and without the Body of Christ. Not many saints would be nor can be transparent with their struggles and observations. Not only has King Cyz been transparent, but as with any perfect testimony, he leads the listener to Who delivered him and brought him through. A must worship CD.

Hott...u betta get it

This CD starts off with a powerful testimony from the very first track...King Cyz strips and get naked and gives his raw and uncut testimony of his struggles as a christian...then gives the church a wake-up call... King Cyz shows his versatility and even slows it down with powerful songs such as God's Way...Selah...and Love Life... We have been playing tracks from this album on our radio show...and there have been countless requests...even if you are not a fan of Scrip-Hop I recommend that you purchase this cd for your youth...not only is he annointed on the mic...but he also lives the rhymes... So I encourage you to support this brotha... Wake up and pick up the album...
