Album Notes

This is a digitally remastered release of the Kingsnakes 1991 MusicKing record release of the album Ultrasound. It includes 4 live bonus tracks recorded at Buddy Guys Legends in Chicago

All of the songs are original compositions. Here are some of the stories behind the songs.

BEST FRIEND BLUES - The lyric goes "I don't love you, I'm in love with your best friend", it happened to me it could happen to you. In fact, alot of people have told me that they relate to this song

WHAT YOU DO - "I like what you do, what you do to me"

GOODBYE LOUISE - this is a New Orleans inspired tune that I wrote in one sitting right before dinner one evening. This is one of those songs that feels like it was channeled through me.

I GOTTA WORK - One night at a club on RT 30, I could'nt hold it any longer, so it was time for a bass solo, when I returned to the stage, Mike Boyle and Tim Mazzoni had this funky groove going, and this song was born.

GREEN MEANS GO - I had this phrase in my head and wrote this song in the subway on State St in Chicago

DEVIL IN MY WHISKEY - This is a B.B. King style slow blues written in 1985

WINDS OF LOVE - In 1990, I volunteered to help victims of a devaststing tornado in Plainfield IL, I was moved by the power and force of Mother nature. At the same time I was experiencing turmoil in my life and I used the storm references as an analogy.

Heavy Blues Chevy?

In reference to Mick Dycus and Heavy Blues Chevy, Mick is one of my best friends and has been for over 30 years. I used to mix for him and the majority of all of the bands he was in. I mixed for HBC a few times but moved off to the west coast. I can get you in touch with him if need be.

Telecasters are Best!!!
author: John
I bought this CD with the Kingsnakes's Grass Roots CD...When you combine the two..it is difficult to review one after the other. This CD has electric versions of a few of the tunes on Grass Roots. If you are into music you will not be disappointed by this one. Ang's vocals and Tele is apparent and fantastic. Darn, can anyone tell me is it the Telecaster or the guitar player? The bass riffs and drums are well done. An amazing CD for only a 3 piece band.
