return of the King, and...

Yellowman has made another comeback with Living Legend, and though it is not his best work, there are shining moments that make it a must-have for the "completists" like myself. Wet Dreams is great classic reggae, and if the whole album were like that song, you'd have a tasty little piece of music. but unfortunately, as is par with the later Yellowman material, you get a mixed bag. the worst of the bunch is Sweetheart, which sounds like a kids' song from Sesame Street. but there is a good share of culture here, and less of the bawdy slack that Yellow is known for. all in all, it's a fun album that would be cool to play at a party or something. SIDE NOTE: be forewarned if you buy a CD, this page does not tell you that you will get a burned copy of the CD from Yellowman, because i think it only came out in MP3 form. it's better to buy the MP3, because otherwise, you get a really crappy package job, and i was pretty frustrated, especially when it it coming from a big reggae name. but if you get the MP3, you get yet another piece of Yellowman history
