Album Notes

KIRBY SEWELL

It took losing everything for Kirby Sewell to learn to sing the Blues.

Life has taken and life has given to Sewell, who channels those emotional experiences into stand out live performances that connect with people.

“Performing the Blues is a ceremony,” quips the 6 ft 6 singer. “It is expressing the pain that you lived thru and celebrating that you are standing in a much, much different place!”

Kirby\'s most recent celebration was this summer on the main stage at the 2008 Calgary International Blues Festival, an opportunity that he won being voted as Calgary\'s Top Blues Vocalist.

His mother recognizing his talent early has said \"Kirby began vocalizing at 2 years old before he could even speak, humming melodies to my old record collections.\" It was his mom persuading him to sing in Church and playing the lead in a High School musical where he found his desire to perform in front of large groups of people.

Sewell has recorded several music projects with various local bands and could recently be seen fronting the R&B band the Rippers, who also performed at the first Calgary Bluesfest in 2005.

His musical past includes a top charting song \"Like It Like You Do!\" on the R&B Chart on Garageband.com, opening for Wide Mouth Mason, and appearances on the Coke Stage at the Calgary Stampede, Flatland Music Festival & New Music West.

Always industrious, the singer-songwriter just released a self-titled 6 song EP on www.PronouncedSoul.com, that bares the sound of his last name.

With a natural blues stature, this big man with a big voice looks forward to sharing his unique talent with audiences everywhere
