When the stresses of life were overwhelming, pianist/composer, Kirk Dearman found solace at the piano and played his way to “The Calm.”

“I’m amazed when I listen to this recording" says Kirk. "I somehow managed to focus and produce a profound project while experiencing internal disapointment and external confusion."

"I had to weave my way back to what I do best – the piano."

After a successful 25 yr. career as a singer/songwriter in Christian music, Kirk says, "I was forced to face Baby Boomer fallout: the reality that I was being replaced by 20-somethings! I struggled with feeling that my best work was behind me."

So . . . Kirk did what came naturally . . . he sat down at the piano and made music, but this time it came differently. He just let it flow – no stopping to write lyrics or re-write - Kirk just played his heart and “The Calm” was born.

The crazy thing is that, presently, his studio is in the middle of their bonus room. His wife, Deby, works in the left corner and 13 yr. old Elijah does homeschool in the right corner. Kirk is perched in the center – headphones and all – and somehow taps into his true calling.

"The Calm" has caused quite a stir - selling like hotcakes from day one! Kirk has received many comments about peace filling the hearts of those who are totally stressed-out, folks breathing deeper and feeling calmer while listening to this music.

"I somehow found ‘the calm’ in the center of my own storm."

Kirk's prayer is that "The Calm" soothes the soul of every listener and that the music brings healing and peace in the midst of chaotic times.
