Too Good, too smart, too needed today.

I happened upon KITE by accident and was a fan after the first listen-- but prior to that I found that this group was much more than just a rock band, they are artists in the true sense of the word. The bold first release of a "box set" was, at first, difficult for me to swallow, that is, until I opened it up. What I found was a complete set of original art, a journal, a CD and a sticker. The art was captivating and illustrated the lyrics in the most fascinating manner that I was quick to slide the CD in to see if the music was my taste. And to my great surprise I was elated to find that the entire work of Gravity was one conceptual collection of intense and passionate work. Monte Thompson's vocal delivery was unlike any singer that you'll hear today. His approach is not 'canned'. It is unusual and healing to the ear, especially compared to all of the music that we are fed on the radio. Kite has given us something that too many bands don't...care, craft, heart and mind. All in a box. Get it and open it. It will change the definition of what you call good. I am happy to share in the fact that I am a KITE fan, and I know that KITE fans share the same kind of taste I do. We like the good stuff. KITE Rocks.

Take a Journey with KITE, fly next to them, and experience the sense of soaring between songs that will leave you breathless. Monte Thompson's unique vocal style can weave a pattern like a bi-plane uses smoke screens in an Air Show. The first two cuts of "gravity" sets the musical scene and lures the listener into believing that they are holding the string and guiding the KITE from the ground. The third cut "SPELLBOUND", unravels the musical Mystery and tells us Who is really in control. The entire CD has musical twists and turns designed to make the listener think. I was totally mesmerized on how easily the Band drifts between amplification and acoustic guitar playing. KITE has the ability to put goose bumps on your arms one minute and then make you weep with joy over the softness of a wonderful Ballad. The exquisite guitar playing by Scott Clarkson and Monte Thompson makes "gravity" a truly remakable work of Musical Art. Michael Koep provides some of the best drumming I've heard in a long time and in my opinion is truly a remarkable Percussionist. Doug Smith is on Bass and has a unique way of setting the mood and pace of each and every song. The four members of KITE are exceptional musicians and demonstrate in the song "In Sum" how closely knit and tight their playing really is. This CD needs to be in your music collection. You won't believe what comes through the mail when your package arrives. KITE will leave a lasting impression and make you want to HEAR more..... Bob Peppler
