Oh, the things you can find in Manville! Diva vocalist, arranger, and mad scientist Angie Louise fronts a bunch of burly boys who crank away on piano, bass, tuba, drums, clarinet, trumpet and trombone, all while shouting out backing vocals in festive attire. This irresistible grab bag of retro music ranges from Dixieland to beer-hall and from bebop to burlesque, with a few hillbilly hoedowns thrown in for good measure.
"LOUISE IS PART EARTHA KITT, PART CAROL BURNETT... SILKEN AND FEROCIOUSLY FUNNY... BRASSY, SASSY, RAZZMATAZZY FUN." - TalkinBroadway.com

Frontkitten Angie Louise can be seen as the lead actress in 2003 indie-cult film "Gory Gory Hallelujah" (winner, Best Fantasy Feature at LA's Shockerfest), for which she also wrote songs and screenplay. Louise is a member of Actors' Equity Association and a longtime fixture in Seattle's musical theatre and cabaret scene. Look for another album in 2008 of Louise's own songs, inspired by such musical influences as Tom Waits, Richard Thompson, Nina Hagen, Dinah Washington, Leonard Cohen, Freddie Mercury, Joni Mitchell, and Loretta Lynn.
"Behind The Tool-Shed" is Kitten In Manville's first CD release. Boys in the band: D.J. Gommels (piano and co-arranger); Mark Wolford (drums, percussion); Greg Powers (trombone, tuba, ukelele); Jon Miller (bass, banjo, guitar); Charles Crowley (clarinet); and Jeff McGrath (trumpet). Individual credits of the Manville men include appearances with the Swiss National Opera, performances with Davy Jones of the Monkees, original cast drag roles in "Dirty Little Showtunes", and a musical Fulbright Fellowship to India.

Capt. Beefheart channeling Kurt Weill
author: Matt Golosinski
Kitten in Manville rocks the party Weimar-style! This is music unafraid to take real risks and deliver an exciting payoff. A wild mix of instruments and attitudes, Kitten is a musical maelstrom that reminds me of Capt. Beefheart channeling Kurt Weill. Can you keep your head together and handle the vibe? On second thought, let Kitten dismantle your head altogether to let the freak-wency heal your shattered soul. Angie Louise is a goddess with a voice to match. Take a trip to Manville today!
