Album Notes
Kitten on the Keys is saucy pianist and singer who
writes her own naughty Punky Cabaret Songs that will stir your nethers and tickle your funny bone!
Her new CD, (It's Not A) Pretty Princess Day, is a smorgasbord of Tin Pan Alley Flapperette Faves, a classic punk cover and her own bodacious one of a kind clever, cute and kinky songs! Kitten's fingers fly over the piano
with the grace of a cat-What a pianimalette!. She strums her ukulele and evens
squeeezes out melodies on her trusty accordion.
18 Tracks of mirth and Merriment! Her voice channels a naughty Betty Boop to a Mae West OOOOMPH!!!!!
3 previously released tail waggin' bonus tracks!
This CD is cheese doodles and pork rinds covered in glitter!
Live performances are an outrageous twist of Vaudevillian Vampy
shenaigans and Rag Time Raunchiness.

French Cabaret and Accordion Sensation Jasmine Vegas rounded out the bill in Nantes! Jasmine and Kitten did a duet of a rousing version of "Le Vie en Rose" that got the French HOWLING!

Silke Tudor SF Weekly-
"Cute, kicky, irrepressible, irresistible, licentious, lewd, dizzy,
delightful -- that's Kitten on the Keys. It's been a couple of years since the Lollies' utterly go-going-gone-are-her-panties piano player set out on her own with nothing but a toy piano, an accordion, two roller skates, a whip, a ukulele, a pair of stilts, a plethora of custom-made bustles and bustiers, and a steamer trunk full of feather ticklers, colored wigs, and edible pasties. And what a wild and winsome time it's been. Even with the abundance of burlesque and bally in this town, Suzanne Ramsey, as the Kitten is named, is San Francisco's finest ambassador of bada-boom. A veritable one-woman vaudevillian show, she has proven her chops as a sexy chanteuse, sassy comedienne, and gutsy mistress of ceremonies; she has enlivened Burlesquefest in Canada, MCed Tease-O-Rama in Los Angeles, fondled Liberace's ivories in Vegas, and fired imaginations throughout Europe (particularly in France, where they just can't seem to get enough of her). Yet Ramsey still finds the time and energy to perform here at home with the Lollies and San Francisco's Famous Burlesque Troupe, and with every other local artist who tickles her peculiar funny bone. Whether it's sucking bloody brains
in a zombie revue or acting as a misanthropic stage mother in a semi- autobiographical noir carnival act, Ramsey shimmies a fine line between high class and low rent, imbuing every cameo with impeccable timing, unimpeachable phrasing, and an unimaginable gutter mouth."

This mischievevous bawdy Betty Boop has trouble in her eyes!
Suzanne Ramsey's Kitten is a saucy Hello Kitty, a naughty Shirley Temple stomping her tap shoe heel down upon your toes, a female Liberace. She meows, purrs, snarls, and snubs her way through eighteen delightful (and usually raunchy) ditties detailing the many facets of female frustration, self-deprecation, and pure, unbridled titillation on her latest release, (It's not a) Pretty Princess Day. This mischievous, bawdy Betty Boop has trouble in her eyes and you on the menu. From an anarchical (in the UK) feline, to an adolescent suicide attempt worthy of an ode to Robert Smith, to the frustration of a lover who can't quite get off unless thinking of his furry friends, there really isn't any material Kittten doesn't cover. She tinkles everything from a vintage Jaymar piano to a '60s Wurlitzer, clavinette, ukelele, accordion, and even a Hello Kitty piano. Giggles, screams, snorts, shrieks, and horse's whinnies are diffused throughout the album. (It's not a) Pretty Princess Day is wonderfully witty, uncensored, hot and bothered bawdiness at its most vulgar, “My hoofies go clip-clop / Your riding crop gets me HOT! / Strap a saddle on my back / And stick that pony tail in my CRACK! (ouch)” from “Pony Girl.” Double entendres are a favorite device and no more glaringly so then in the mock-shock hymnal of “Lonesome Valley.” “Until a MAN came along he put JOY in my life / That SEXXXY Man, was the Lord Jesus Christ / He filled My Valley / He plowed and plowed / Didn't seem to mind / I was a naughty Sinner Child.” The only thing missing from the album, well, you won't get on the album. As a solo come-hither artiste, Kitten on the Keys is meant to be experienced in person, where kitty knee pads and an endless array of sex toy goodies stuffed down the drawers (and between heavin' cleavage) are standard fare. Aquarius Records New Releases

Kitten On The Keys is a delightful One Ma'am Band!
Kicking up her heels and cooing up a storm, Kitten On The Keys is one-ma'am band Suzanne Ramsey.
And (It's Not A) Pretty Princess Day is a delightful album full of quirky, charming old tyme piano numbers. She sings and plays with plenty of spritely wit and sass. Each song is steeped with saucy vaudevillian and pouty burlesque excess. Ramsey performs both her own originals as well as a plethora of covers, even tackling Sex Pistols and The Cure with a giggle and a wink. Actually (if she hasn't already!) she'd be a great human performer at the Musee Mechanique!

Putty Tat Panache!
Kitten goes though a wide range of styles and personas.
From imp to siren, psychotic to bubbly girl-next-door, Kitten paws and purrs!
To miss her next performance would be to wish banality upon all of your nine lives.

Cute, Kicky, irrepressible, licentious, lewd, dizzy, delightful-that's Kitten On
Cute, kicky, irrepressible, irresistible, licentious, lewd, dizzy, delightful -- that's Kitten on the Keys. Which brings us to (It's Not) A Pretty Princess Day, the third CD release by Kitten on the Keys. Not since 1977 has the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the U.K." sounded so deviant and dangerous. A sadistically sweet interpretation of the punk anthem appears here, filled with little-girl giggles and exclamations of "Golly jeepers!," but that's not the chief disturbance on this album. In fact, it's only the beginning. Even delivered with a Broadway-caliber voice and inflection, Ramsey's originals are nothing if not aberrant. From her pony-girl rumba and her junkie tango to her Tin Pan Alley ditties about furry fetishism and profiteering grandmothers who sell little girls' soiled underwear on eBay, Ramsey is unapologetic in her honesty and her vulgarity. Among her torch songs and Basin Street ballads, she sings about pussy toupees and her oh-so-very-salable pooh-pooh. On the title track, a lament over the ultimate bad-hair-down-there day, she poses the real question on every cabaret performer's mind: Does this piano make my butt look big? It's this sort of cleverness and candor that makes Kitten on the Keys so beloved on the neo-burlesque circuit, so it's not surprising that so many of the artists Ramsey has assisted and amused over the years are coming together to celebrate the release of her new album. Included on the night's roster are pogo-stick stripper Roky Roulette, Minnie Pearl Necklace's Rodney Austin, Polkacide's Mr. Tinkler, punk rock accordionist Duckmandu, über-macabre drag-circuit performer Vinsantos, Zombie Pinups mastermind Zombique, Los Angeles burlesque sensation Penny Starr Jr., and, of course, the Lollies. Kitten on the Keys celebrates her CD release on Friday, June 18, at the Odeon at 9 p.m.

The Cat's Me-wow!
Suzanne Ramsey's humorous collection of silly standards and original risque and edgy tunes are perfectly suited for the offbeat listener with a kinky disposition. A great addition to a party atmosphere or just a laugh between friends. I highly recommend this cassette as an essential addition to any collector of the kooky-kinky music click.
