"it's either that I get bored of playing the same thing twice, or that I'm not good enough to." Kiyoshi Foster jokingly says of his live performances.
True to his claim each performance is different, both with his band The Floating Lotus or solo.
Since buying a $5 guitar at a yard sale when he was 11, Kiyoshi has been compelled to explore the depths of music.
After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he spent 18th months studying Indian Classical and Hindustani Vocal music before moving out west to San Francisco to perform.
In 2005-06 he hosted a Songwriter's Workshop at The Poet's Galley, Co-Produced/Co-Hosted "The Purple Friday Show", an Olde Tyme Variety Show at The Purple Onion wich ran for 9 months, and perfomed in some of the cities best music clubs (12 Galaxies, Cafe Du Nord, Bottom Of The Hill, Red Devil Lounge, Biscuits and Blues)
Kiyoshi continues to perform steadily in North Beach with The Floating Lotus, a band he formed in 2005 as an acoustic band and has developed into a full blown rock band.
Kiyoshi continues to hold a weekly residency (Wed.) at Giordano Bros. in North Beach with guitarist and singer Sean Leahy (www.seanleahymusic.com).
