Album Notes

KJ has been hailed internationally as a force to be reckoned with. The Sydney Sun-Herald proclaimed him a "Chicago Star." Theatrical credits include: off-Broadway: Beginnings, Mad About the Boy; Other credits: Mad Joy (filmed for PBS, following run at Steppenwolf Theatre and tour of Germany); Starts in Your Eyes; The King & I. Television credits include: The Ricki Lake Show, Can You Tell? (Oxygen Network), and Alphabet Garden.

After receiving his vocal performance education from the Chicago Academy for the Arts, DePaul and Northwestern Universities (all on scholarships), KJ immediately went on to make his mark on the New York City cabaret circuit, performing regularly at such venues as Don't Tell Mama, the Duplex, and the High Spirits Room. In 1999, KJ was invited to perform the Schubert Mass in B-Flat at Carnegie Hall. He made his Australian debut along side cafe society legend Julie Wilson, at the Sydney Cabaret Convention. He returns twice yearly to perform in concert, at venues including Arq, The Glen Street Theatre, and The Albury Hotel.

2001 saw KJ sign an exclusive recording contract with Voix Chic Records. His debut This Could Be the Start of Something consists of songs from various genres and eras, all performed in his unmistakable jazz style.

KJ was born in the tony suburbs of Chicago on August 3. Ever the philanthropist, he actively participates with many organizations, working primarily with those dealing with arts education and AIDS awareness. Additionally, he is a member of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, and the Musical Educators National Conference. KJ divides his time between Cape Cod, Sydney, and his home in New York City, Maison de Voix Chic™.
