Album Notes

Sacred Sites Songs is a multi-artist CD with 8 original and four previous releases.
By purchasing this CD, you are contributing to Klayjar's work promoting and documenting the efforts to bring respect and attention to America's sacred sites.

Wade Fernandez can both soothe and rock. His vocals, guitar, songwriting, native flute and drumming, all flow from deep within a rich blood memory, echoing his words,”Music is a very powerful gift to be returned and shared in a good way.”
2006 Best Male Artist of the Year Award from the NAMMYS. 2004 and 2006 nominations include: Songwriter of the Year, Blues/Jazz Recording of the Year, Pop/Rock Recording of the Year, and many others. Wade has been on many world tours and has shared the stage with the likes of Jackson Browne and the Indigo Girls.

Larry Long donated two songs from his Run for Freedom/Sweet Thunder CD. A Smithsonian Folkways recording artist, Larry has received many awards including the Spirit of Crazy Horse Award. Learn about Larry's life work: Elder's Wisdom, Children's song and his other projects at:

David HB Drake’s music is inspired by his voyages across Midwestern prairies and the waters of the Great Lakes. Among other awards he was named Folk/Acoustic Music Artist of the Year 2002 by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry. David's songs are frequently heard on Wisconsin public radio's Simply Folk, and Higher Ground.

Ben Yahola is the national coordinator for Sacred Sites Run. He is a folk singer and songwriter composing contemporary and traditional Indian songs using guitars, hand drum, rattles and other percussion instruments as well as footstomping rhythms. His unique style mixes entertainment with a sincere expression in his tribal language.

Michael Bucher's Don't Forget about Me was a welcome late addition to this project. The message is right on and powerful.

Clinton Miller grew up on the Stockbridge Munsee Mohican Indian Reservation in north-central Wisconsin. He is a self-taught guitarist that started playing at the age of 12. He spent two years in his mid-20s with a vocal instructor who taught him the classical Italian style of singing. “I like to draw from art… spiritual philosophies, and mythology, as well as my Native American upbringing for inspiration. I'm a private person by nature-but I love to perform my music live-and I do believe that's what it's all about, bringing the music to the people”

Skip Jones also lives on the Stockbridge Munsee Mohican Indian Reservation. His music is warm, personal and family friendly. Touching hearts and helping people feel good about themselves, he bridges generations with a style that makes folks want to participate! He plays old songs, with a freshness that has young folks singing along.

Patrick Klaybor is the producer of Sacred Sites Songs. As a social activist he uses words and music as a tool to inspire and move people in a good way.
