Great synthesis of Klezmer and Jazz
author: Jerry BarkmanI saw the OPB presentation of Klezmocracy and after listening to the CD, I greatly appreciated the merger of musical styles. The music is great and has enough variety to keep it from becoming boring. Keep up the good work, guys.
a fine jazz album
author: BrianMy head just heard Klezmocracy as a jazz band with a different rhythm...or rhythms. Well played, fun and inventive. I'll be buying this album as a gift for some of my jazz-listening friends.
This outstanding CD gets better each time you listen to it.
author: DSRThis CD with its eclectic blend of klezmer, African, jazz and Latin influences is just a delight to the ear. One song has you sitting back, mellow, the lights dim, with a glass of warm cognac and then the next gets you up and dancing with an infectious case of happy feet. The musicians are superb, the production is sublime -- it defies description or categorization. It just plain makes you feel good! BUY THIS CD -- you will not be sorry!
