KLOKWIZE is a fresh voice in music with an organic, universal sound. Growing up in the 90s 'golden age' of east coast hip hop, Klok drew inspiration from genre-bending artists such as Everlast and A Tribe Called Quest. He has shared stages with stars such as Fat Joe, Tyga (Young Money) & Doug E Fresh.
In summer 2010, Klok officially formed a live band with esteemed musicians Joe Palmer, Dave Ma, Chris Langhans and Ramon Morant and started work on 'The Klokwize EP'.
Recorded in Connecticut at famed Monsterlab Studios, the 5-track opus shows all that has made Klok such a legendary figure in the indie hip-hop scene. The opening knockout 'Dayz Between the Hours' is followed by the rollicking Sublime-funk of 'Whatcha Doin', while 'Good Money' and 'Mrs. Much' send slinky vibes down the listener's spine. 'Happy Camper' closes the record with a 90s-throwback to Rage Against the Machine and 311, all while keeping Klok's signature style.
The EP has already been hailed as a gamechanger by many websites. The combination of true hip-hop credentials, live musicians and huge hooks make this EP a must-have. One article noted Klok's "...ability to merge both a sincere candidness and a compelling narrative which most current rappers lack." —(thatbanddoesnotexist.wordpress.com)
Klokwize is poised to be the artist to take the underground up to the light of day. So don't be late to the next generation of music, the time is NOW!
