An amazing CD! Conceptually brilliant with endless playability.

This CD draws you in with just plain, old-fashioned, phenomenal song writing and performance. The songs are deep and rich both musically and lyrically. This band seems to have mastered a sound that transcends genre...I wouldn't feel comfortable calling their style folk, country, rock, or even blues. It's a subtle blend of all these styles woven together with deep rich vocals and captivating lyrics. Truly a masterful album by a band with great talent and potential.

Earthy and dynamic - get a taste of this Northwest act

"Steal the Plain Straight" is a perfect way to introduce Klondike-5's music -- earthy and dynamic, just like a top-notch microbrew! Sit down for multiple listens with this record, and great things will creep up on you that you may have missed the first time around. Songs like "Coal (Hill's Folly)" show KL5's admirable songwriting strength, creating landscapes reminiscent of early Johnny Cash works. But their music is quite unique as well; a tone reflecting the West and the influence it has resonates through this recording, showing KL5's connection and commitment to their music. Buy this CD, and share it with everyone you know at the pub!

Klondike 5 is a fitting name for this group. Their music has a very natural outdoorsy quality which would make a good soundtrack for Alaska. It is a full, rich, varied sound with lots of blended melodies. The musicians play off each other as if they shared a brain. And the deep resonant voice of the lead singer is mesmerizing. This is music that you’ll like the first time you hear it, but which will grow on you with each consecutive listen. I highly recommend it.
