Album Notes

S.F. bred artist K-Maxx is no stranger to the hip hop/rap game. He's played instruments on projects ranging from Sway and Tech, to Dan the Automator, to the Coup over the years. In 1994, he released his highly acclaimed solo EP "Sumthin' ta Roll Wit" (coming soon) which remained on many Bay Area retailers "hot lists"for quite some time.

Combining live instruments with raw beats and melodies,
K-Maxx created a combination many enjoyed in the Bay Area and do until this day. K-Maxx's insightful and occasionally humorous lyrics were and are standout points on his albums.

The highly anticipated album featured here "Still Rollin' came hot on the heels of "Sumthin' ta Roll Wit" and was/is an important record in Bay Area music. What sets him apart throughout is the fact that K-Maxx played all the instruments including Keyboards, Guitar and Bass on Still Rollin'. That's a claim few artists can make.

He also does all the lead raps (except for guests) and singing hooks!! Just to listen to the effort and hard work from the musical mind of "one man" is itself a journey. This album represents much of what is good about the Bay Area hip hop/rap scene of the 90's until this day!!
A prolific writer and producer, look for new releases from K-Maxx in the near future.

If you're looking for something less fake, more real, and more soulful check out Still Rollin'...

It is a testimony to the independent spirit of Bay Area rap/hip hop and a peek into one man's blood, sweat, and tears. It is definitely a ride worth taking!!
