Knockin' Dog Broke onto the Vancouver Music scene with their debut tape "Listen to this" in 1995. The tape got them a show at the now defunct but legendary Starfish Room where they gave away a free car as a door prize. Knockin' Dog were called "the heirs to Frank Zappa's musical genius" upon the release of their debut CD Simplex, as their song "the Drumheller Boogie" climbed up the college charts. SIMPLEX was a Hamburger album, much like the Hamburger paragraph, it had an intro and an outro "Invisible man", then inward there were 3 rocking songs with two acoustic numbers in the middle.
