Joe (Koffee) Hardy Jr. is a very gifted, self taught, multi-talented singer / arranger / producer / performer from the South side of Chicago. Koffee now 24 years old started singing at the age of nine and writing his own songs at the age 13. He joined Holy Spirit Gospel Choir at the age of 15. Also at the age of 15 he formed an R&B vocal group called Ivory. Ivory performed at high school functions, house parties, talent shows, and park jams throughout Chicago, Indiana, Kentucky and Atlanta Georgia.
After graduating from high school he performed at top local venues in Chicago and surrounding areas including: House of Blues Club in Chicago; the world famous Arie Crown Theater in Chicago; the infamous E2 Club in Chicago; Issac Hayes Music, Food and Soul Club in Chicago; Club Tropicana in Chicago; Star Plaza Theater in Merriville IN; The 50Yard Line Club in Harvey Il; and Club Secrets in Dolton Il.
After the members of Ivory went their separate ways, Koffee continued to perform solo on the college circuit including: Kennedy-King of Chicago; Chicago State University; University of Iowa. 89.7 maxim radio recently added a song from Koffee’s play list.
Sponsored by Internationally renowned veteran music pioneers Jacqueline and Robert Poindexter (co-writers of the classic “Thin Line Between Love and Hate): Koffee won third place at the world famous Apollo Theater; he opened up for famous rapper Jadakiss; and also made a video of his song “Work Dat,” directed by the famous video director Zodiac Fishgrease.
Bobby and Jackie Poindexter songs have been recorded by icons including The Persuaders, The Ojays, the Manhattans, Jimi Hendrix, Chrissie Hyndes & Pretenders, Annie Lenoix, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in his movie “Thin Line Between Love and Hate.”. They are confident that Koffee’s album “Wake Up” will earned its place among the many Gold and Platinum Records hanging on their wall.
