Tom Kohl's latest album "Three Windows" on which he leads an acoustic piano trio, is a stellar release that provides comprehensive evidence of his notable musical skills. This album certainly deserves the distribution and airplay that marketing departments at major labels are so capable of generating,frequently for artists with far less to say and albums that are undeserving of the wider recognition they mistakenly receive.
This independently released recording stands light years ahead of innumerable self-released jazz albums that flood the market. Kohl possesses the experience and the substance and demonstrates he has a lot of meaningful things to say.
