Since the release of "Quantum Physics" (PFF Music/Cav Dist.) in 2006, Paul "Sequence" Ferguson has spent most of the last 5 years working behind the scenes. In early 2008 after the promotion of "Quantum Physics" came to an end, Paul teamed up with a then new label Premier Entertainment Group.

Paul was looking to expand again musically, focus more on producing others and get back to doing what he's best known for... collaborating with other artists. Since the late 90's Paul went from being a member of Guru of GangStarr's Hip-Hop/Jazz cross over band Jazzamattaz to completely submerging him self in a Smooth Jazz spiritual journey. In the beginning of the new millennium Paul was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This life threatening illness prevented Paul from traveling, recording and performing on the big stage as he had grown accustomed to.

His voyage through the world of smooth jazz allowed him to stay connected with his fans. Paul's children, family, friends, fans and love for life kept him going. His close friend, mentor and fellow musician Eddie Benitez is also a cancer survivor. This relationship helped to inspire Paul to have the strength to keep going. Paul, throughout his battle with cancer some how managed to compose several albums, direct 2 inspirational DVD's and compose numerous TV and radio commercial jingles.

By 2008 Paul's cancer was in remission and he couldn't wait to get back to work. After 2 months of meetings, Paul joined the Premier Entertainment Group production team in February 2008 and this match proved to be a good one. Paul has since collaborated on songs with artists such as Skee-Lo, David Ruffin Jr., Doc Ice, MixMaster Ice, Belinda Lovell, Sheila Raye Charles, Lovari, Rappin' 4-tay, KolordPimp and most importantly his son Deshaun aka "Sequence 2". In 2012 Paul decided it was time to get back into the studio and make a fresh new album. This time he's 99% cancer free and has an enthusiastic staff behind him. This first teaser-track "Neo-Groove" is just a taste of what's yet to come from Paul "Sequence" Ferguson.
